River Rats Raft & Kayak have been offering rafting adventures for almost 30 years and pride ourselves on offering high quality experiences with a safety first culture.
Within an hours’ drive from Whakatane you have 4 different river experiences as well as kayaking adventures to choose from!
In Rotorua we offer the famous Grade 5 Kaituna River featuring the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world! In Murupara, between Rotorua to Taupo, we offer the Rangitaiki River with a Grade 2 section perfect for families with children as young as 5 years old or a Grade ¾ section of this river for those a little more adventurous. Finally in the Kaimai Ranges (between Matamata and Tauranga) we offer the Wairoa River - an amazing Grade 5 River which is only open 26 days a year!
Available from our Rotorua base, Kayaking is available as freedom hire or a guided tour. Paddle the local lakes to a secluded beach or enjoy a hot water swim only accessible by boat.
All equipment is supplied and complimentary transport is available from Rotorua city. 
We are Maritime New Zealand approved and foundation members of the Rotorua Sustainable Tourism Charter. We are Qualmark Rated and hold a Qualmark Enviro Gold Award.
