Baywide Pools has been recognised at the annual Pool of the Year Awards, taking out the Platinum Pool of the Year Award for their freeform resort-style Tauranga swimming pool.

Each year Mayfair Pools showcases design excellence utilising the Mayfair Pools proprietary system at their annual Pool of the Year Awards, this year held in Wellington on 2 August with awards sponsored by Austral Pool & Spa Products.

“The awards recognise the best custom swimming pool designs and the craftsmen behind them, and we see the boundaries of design and construction pushed even further every year. “This year’s winner from the team at Mayfair Pools Tauranga & Whakatane is the perfect example of design-led construction finding a wonderful meeting point between form and function.

“The team had an extensive brief to accommodate the multi-generational and lifestyle needs of the owner, all within a relatively small space, and what we see with the freeform design wrapping around the home, and integration of spa within the pool showcases absolute excellence in building,” Clint says.

The 12.4m x 4.7m freeform pool is large enough for swimming lengths, with practical design aspects to accommodate fun and safety for family members of all ages, along with a cohesive flow from the outdoor entertainment area.

The pool features an in-built spa pool with custom-built wrap-around steps seemingly luring you into the depths of this resort-style pool. The dual-purpose heat pump heats both the pooland spa at separate temperatures, and LED lighting provides extended enjoyment for evening entertaining and swimming beneath the stars.

Pool of the Year Award categories include Commercial Pool of the Year, Renovation of the Year, and overall Pool of the Year, with 16 agents across 33 regions eligible for entry. Suppliers are also recognised through the Supplier of the Year Award.
