Welcome to Eastern Bays Homebased Childcare, an early childhood service, providing care and education for preschool children in private homes in Whakatane, Kawerau and Edgecumbe. We are licensed with the Ministry of Education.
Our educators provide care and education as an 'educator' in their own home for up to four preschool children at any one time. We have both qualified and in-training daycare educators whose priority it is to nurture your child, provide them with a stimulating and safe home, and tailor their day to their specific needs and unique personalities.

We support our educatorswith all the resources they need and organise regular outings for the children to explore the best of what our beautiful region has to offer. Our visiting teachers run weekly playgroups where your child will learn while they play and socialise with the other children in our service. We provide so much more than just 'caring' for your child.
We offer 20 hours FREE ECE for three and four year olds with no surcharge or 'optional' fees and we are registered with the Ministry of Education, following the Te Whāriki early childhood curriculum.
