There are 2 upmarket superior units with king size beds and spacious ensuites, a beautiful family apartment with river view, super king size and single beds, 69 inch TV, dishwasher, stove, bath and shower and a town centre apartment that is ideal accommodation for contractors or large families. Tarawera River Lodge is centrally situated, being 10 minutes from the lakes, 30 minutes to Whakatane on the coast and 45 minutes to Rotorua City, renowned for its thermal activity, Maori history and culture.

Town Centre Apartment - Ideal accommodation for contractors or large families. Ex-bank building with large kitchen and bathroom with shower. Four sleeping areas including 3 double beds and 1 single bed. Kitchen has two 2-plate benchtop cookers, microwave and electric frying pan, toaster, etc. Large family size fridge/freezer. TV with freeview channels. Beds are fully made but guests have to bring own towels. No daily services, weekly cleaning for long stays. The apartment is not on the motel grounds, it is situated in the main town centre area, walking distance from shops and take-aways.

For a relaxing stay there are numerous activities available. Trout fishing on your doorstep in the Tarawera river, and the surrounding lakes. Kayaking on the river or nearby Lake Rotoma. Guided tramps to the spectacular Tarawera Falls. Guided 1 and 2 hour horse Treks nearby. Close to picturesque 18 hole golf course. kawerau also has a free thermally heated swimming pool.
