Emergency Management Bay of Plenty will be testing all available alerting systems including sirens on Friday 9 October, 10am.

This test will include:

All fixed sirens will sound continuously for up to one minute (Matata, Coastlands, Whakatane, Ohope, Ohiwa, Waiotahi, Opotiki & Waihau Bay).

Text alerts will be sent.

Emails will be sent. 

This is a test and no action is required - in a real event the sirens will sound for 10 minutes with a constant rise. In a real event if you hear or receive a warning listen to 1XX (90.5/92.9fm or 1242am).
