Rural Youth and Adult Literacy Trust empower rural and isolated teens and adults by improving their literacy skills. Right now, we need more local Bay of Plenty volunteers to step forward and make a difference as a volunteer literacy coach for local adult students in Whakatane, Kawerau & Te Puke that need help with their reading and writing.
This is an opportunity for people in our community to directly change lives. By helping someone to improve their reading and writing, volunteers aren’t just teaching skills—they’re building confidence, creating pathways to employment, and opening doors that were once firmly shut.
RYALT provides all the training and resources needed, so our volunteers feel supported every step of the way. What they bring to the table is simply their time, patience, and a passion for helping others. The impact they’ll make, however, is immeasurable.
