The Big Brothers Big Sisters Charity Fishing Tournament is back in Whakatāne for 2026, raising funds for mentoring programmes across the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

This family-friendly event runs over the middle weekend of the April school holidays, with categories for all ages and abilities including land-based traditional, boat-based, land-based drone/contiki, and a junior section across all categories.

Participants go in the draw for a major prize valued at $2,248, along with spot prizes, raffles, and more on the day. A great way to get involved and support a local cause while enjoying a fun fishing weekend.
