Fishing n More One Base Tournament Powered by PENN
The Fishing n More One Base Tournament, powered by PENN, returns to Whakatane for Waitangi Weekend 2026 and is hosted by the Whakatane Sportfishing Club.
The tournament runs from Friday 6 February to Sunday 8 February 2026. A compulsory skipper briefing will be held on Thursday 5 February at 7pm at the Whakatane Sportfishing Club, with all skippers required to attend.
Fishing gets underway at 5.30am on Friday 6 February. All vessels must depart from the Whakatane Port, with fishing restricted to the Whakatane Sportfishing Club Sponsors Grid Map. Boats must return to Port each day, with all fish weighed by 6pm daily.
Each evening features a daily round up, heaviest section prizes, and lucky angler draws held at 7pm at the Whakatane Sportfishing Club. Anglers must be present to be eligible for lucky draws.
$60 Full member / $80 Social / Non-member

• 1st to 3rd R & R Tractors Heaviest Tuna, Open and Junior sections
• 1st to 3rd Iceman Yellowtail Kingfish, Open and Junior sections
• 1st to 3rd Blast n Paint Snapper, Open and Junior sections
• Fishing n More First Tagged Marlin of the Tournament Girls
• Fishing n More First Tagged Marlin of the Tournament Boys
Prizegiving will take place on Sunday 8 February 2026 at 7pm at the Whakatane Sportfishing Club, wrapping up a major fishing event on the Whakatane calendar.
