Summer Fun at Wharfside, Ōhope & Ōhiwa Harbour

This summer, Wharfside is the place to be! From December through February, enjoy a range of exciting activities and experiences for all ages at this scenic Ōhope and Ōhiwa Harbour hotspot.

Takutai Adventures – explore the harbours by kayak, SUP, or e-bike for an unforgettable land and sea adventure.

Tio Ōhiwa – join a shuck 'n' cruise oyster tour or scenic harbour cruise on Ōhiwa Harbour.

Whakatāne i-Site – pick up visitor information and local tips.

On-site fun and refreshments:

Supported by Mata Brewery and local food trucks from 27 December to 8 February.

Activities include stand-up paddleboarding, e-biking, and family-friendly water fun, while you relax with a drink or snack by the water.

Event dates:

From 1 December: Tio Ōhiwa harbour cruises and interactive oyster tours begin.

From 27 December – 7 February: Daily activities with SUP, e-bikes, harbour-side food, drinks, and family fun.
