ALZHEIMERS SOCIETY EASTERN BAY OF PLENTY INCORPORATED

We provide support services to people with dementia and their carers, family and whanau. Based in Whakatane, our team is passionate about and committed to empowering and enabling all people in the Eastern Bay Of Plenty affected by dementia. Alzheimers and other dementias can be very isolating and distressing diseases, and it is extremely important that people realise they do not have to travel this journey alone.

Hospice Eastern Bay Of Plenty helps people make the most of their lives. Hospice is not a building; it is a philosophy of care.

Irrespective of where they are, this philosophy of care does not change and everything we provide is free of charge.

NEIGHBOURHOOD SUPPORT WHAKATANE

Neighbourhood Support Whakatane is a charitable trust operating under the umbrella of Neighbourhood Support New Zealand.

Neighbourhood Support aims to up their profile to reach communities to help/encourage community preparedness with Civil Defence.   Neighbourhood Support also liaises with the police to help with crime prevention and encourage residents to report any suspicious behaviour.

PLUNKET WHAKATANE

Plunket are New Zealand's largest provider of support services for the development, health and wellbeing of children under 5. Plunket works together with families and communities, to ensure the best start for every child. Whānau āwhina - caring for families.

Plunket Whakatane offer a range of services including car seat technicians on certain dates, play groups, well child and before school checks as well as other support services and coffee groups. 

SALVATION ARMY WHAKATANE

The Salvation Army New Zealand provide individuals and families with food parcels, budgeting advice, life skills and parenting courses, social work, youth development, and transitional housing. They aim to give you a helping hand so you are not dependent on government assistance and can gain a greater level of control over your life.

Foodbank and welfare assessments are done on Tuesday and Thursdays between 9.30am and 12.30pm.

VICTIM SUPPORT

Victim Support is an independent incorporated society that provides a free 24 / 7 community response to help victims of serious crime and trauma. Volunteers are at the heart of our service.

For immediate assistance please call 0800 842 846. This number will get you through to our 24 hr Contact Service that manages victim referrals and improves volunteer Support Worker safety throughout New Zealand.

Whakatane Shake All Nations Youth

WHAKATANE SHAKE ALL NATIONS YOUTH

Whakatane Shake all Nations Youth, also known as SANY, is a Christian organization, run by the Shake all Nations Church.

We meet every Thursday night during the school terms, at 6:30 - 8:30 at the Knox Church, 83 Domain Road Whakatane.

All High school students, year groups 9-13 are welcome!

Come along for food, games, and fellowship.
