At the CAB we try to help people to know and understand their rights and obligations and how to use this information to get the best outcomes, provide people with the confidence and support they need to take action, and work for positive social change within communities and wider society. We provide a free and independent service to all.

Here at the Whakatane CAB we support our clients by.

  • Providing FREE, confidential, independent information, advice and support on a wide range of issues.
  • We use our Community Directory and extensive database to connect people to the support/services they need.
  • Educating our clients on their rights and obligations, empowering them to make informed decisions and with the options available.
  • We work for positive social change within communities and society.

As well as our daily information, advice and referral service, the Whakatane Bureau offers the following specialist services:

  • Free legal service on Mondays at 1pm (by appointment) Assistance with filling out forms
  • We have a wealth of knowledge and a wide range of pamphlets and information resources available.
